I recently received a free copy of “Kidpreneurs – Young Entrepreneurs with Big Ideas” in the mail. I was interested to look it over and see what it had to offer. Being that I and most of my followers are entrepreneurs with children this book may be perfect for our kids.
The book is written by brothers, Adam and Matthew Toren, the founders of YoungEntrepreneur.com. There were several things I liked about the way the book was formatted. It was written in short chapters in an easy-to-understand manner. It was both informative and encouraging in a way that kids could grasp.
It’s also very appealing to the eye. My own children are not at this reading level, however, I’m sure that older children would be very drawn to the illustrations and colorful graphics used throughout.
Some of the chapters covered in the book are;
- Are you an entrepreneur;
- Getting started;
- Sample businesses you can create;
- Networking; and
- You can do it!
One of my favorite features of the book are the resources and worksheet in the back. It lists several business and money management websites for kids. Then, it also offers a fill-in-the-blank worksheet where kids can outline their very own business plan.
In addition, the book touches on topics such as green business, ethics and giving back. The book is not only encouraging business growth and education it’s also emphasizing other key qualities that will make these future business leaders more well-rounded.
