LaBarrie Littles

I love unique, handmade items for babies. Sometimes it’s hard to find cute items that are unisex, but I was thrilled with the adorable items that I received from LaBarrie Littles.

The cute onesie and bib set feature an adorable orange elephant, which is appropriate for a boy or a girl. Since we don’t know baby’s gender, we don’t know baby’s name either. But, if we did, LaBarrie Littles also offers personalization of all of their designs.

The appliquéd items that I received are very high quality. The bib is a little larger, meaning it will be suitable for baby for many months. I can’t wait to put our newborn in the onesie. I’m guessing that with the hot summer weather, onesies will be a staple of his/her wardrobe!

LaBarrie Littles has several designs featured on her site. However, if you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for she specializes in custom designs as well.

One lucky Market Mommy reader will win an $18 gift certificate good for an appliquéd bib and onesie set, or any item from their store, during our 2nd Birthday Extravaganza. Simply visit our Extravaganza Giveaway page to get all of the details and register. This prize is valued at $18, and there are a ton of other great prizes to register for as well!

In addition to their website, LaBarrie Littles can be found on Facebook and Twitter.

smilegram paper

My daughter is four and just learning to write her name. She is doing a pretty good job at it. When smilegram paper decided to sponsor our 2nd Birthday Extravaganza, I was excited for many different reasons.

They provided me with a package of their Cutie Pie Cupcake Stationery. There are several great things about the paper, it’s eco-friendly and made from recycled materials. It has awesome, bright colorful graphics that were designed by the owner’s seven-year-old daughter. And, it is lined to emphasize the importance of handwriting and sending personal notes.

My daughter immediately loved it, as did I. The paper is high-quality, 70lb. paper. Not the typical thin copy paper often sold in stores. The graphics are beautiful and attractive. And, perhaps the best part is my daughter wrote her name more neatly than she ever has before. She was eager to use the envelopes too, and write an entire note to gramma and papa.

A package of the Cutie Pie Cupcake Stationery is also available during our 2nd Birthday Extravaganza. Simply visit our Extravaganza Giveaway page to get all of the details and register. This prize is valued at $9.99, and there are a ton of other great prizes to register for as well!

In addition to their website, smilegram paper can be found on Facebook and Twitter.

Mommy Wisdom

Mommy Wisdom offers a mixture of cute gifts and great advice. For our 2nd Birthday Extravaganza, they provided an Alphabet Place Mat/Play Mat for review. My kids instantly loved it. Both of them have been learning their letters, how to write them and how they sound so this mat is perfect for our house.

Each letter has an accompanying picture to help with sounds and phonics. This is perfect for my five-year-old who is starting the basics of how to read and sound out words.

The hand drawn graphics are printed on a professional press and then coated with a heavy duty laminate. The mat is definitely sturdy and made to last. It’s great for meal time but also craft and play time to keep messes confined and to a minimum.

The graphics are bright and colorful and the kids immediately started saying their abc’s and pointing to the different letters. I think this would be a great product for any preschool aged child.

We’re giving away one of the Alphabet Place Mats during our 2nd Birthday Extravaganza. Go to our Extravaganza Giveaway page to get all of the details and register. This prize is valued at $10, and there are a ton of other great prizes to register for as well!

In addition to their website, Mommy Wisdom can be found on Facebook and Twitter.

Oh, Baby Organic Skincare

Who doesn’t want the best products for their new baby? Oh, Baby Organic Skincare is formulated with organic plant and fruit extracts, along with skin nourishing vitamins and antioxidants that will protect and care for your baby's delicate skin. They kindly sent me samples of the Baby Butter (moisturizing lotion) and the Bathtime Baby (hair and body wash).

They are both great. The Baby Butter smelled good and I definitely noticed the moisturizing effects it had on my older daughter’s skin. It is enriched with organic botanical extracts and vitamins. And, it’s paraben-free, propylene glycol-free, hypoallergenic and phthalate and petroleum-distilates-free.

The Bathtime Baby is also free of all the potentially irritating or sensitizing oils or botanicals. The hydrating cleanser can safely be used on baby’s skin and hair. It’s gentle and cleanses without disrupting the skin’s natural moisture balance.

Oh, Baby Organic Skincare has generously donated a bottle of the Bathtime Baby to be given away during our 2nd Birthday Extravaganza. Simply visit our Extravaganza Giveaway page to get all of the details and register. This prize is valued at $18.95, and there are a ton of other great prizes to register for as well!

Mama Never Told Me

People are constantly telling me how big I’m getting with this baby. A week-and-a-half ago at church one lady swore I was going to deliver any minute. I still had 4 weeks to go! So, I can totally relate to Emily Van Do’s book, Mama Never Told Me.

It’s a diary of all the unbelievable questions and comments posed to pregnant women. After getting insensitive comments during her pregnancy, Van Do began to write them down, eventually putting them into book form. Here are a few of my favorites:

“Oh my God, where did those boobs come from?”

“You are sooo big. Are you sure there aren’t two in there?”

“I thought you were pregnant because I noticed your ass getting wider and wider.”

“You have three more months?”

The book is a quick and easy read and it is very humorous. I’m sure many other women, like myself and Van Do, are unprepared for the comments made by coworkers and complete strangers. The book is also illustrated wonderfully. The graphics really help enhance and tell the story.

I would definitely recommend this book as a fun read for any pregnant woman and it makes a great baby shower gift, too. One lucky Market Mommy reader will win her own copy. You can visit our Extravaganza Giveaway page to get all of the details and register. This prize is valued at $9.95, and there are a ton of other great prizes to register for as well!

In addition to their website, Mama Never Told Me can be found on Facebook and Twitter.
