Humble Beginnings: The Good Old Fashioned Marketing Tactics

Business is so large and complex that it's little wonder everyone and anyone is getting involved in some way. It's perhaps the lifeblood of all civilizations because it's not just about money and providing a great life for you and your family. It's much more because you’re creating dreams, following through with them and making them real for the rest of the world too. It's where human innovation, intelligence, creativity and willpower is constantly tested. You can’t knock on every door, stop and chat with homeowners about their spending habits and explain to them why your business could be useful to them. That is simply too little too slow, and although from time to time this might be okay, it's generally a waste of time, money and energy. However, everyone has seen the simple leaflets and fliers that are posted through the letterboxes of homes. They advertise businesses such as restaurants, construction companies, handyman services, flower delivery and pretty much everything. The fliers are easy to design, they don’t need to be extravagant, they don’t cost a lot to product and you don’t have to deliver them yourself either.

Design your flier at home using photoshop or various other image editing software. You will simply need to have your logo, business name and slogan clearly displayed and use your color scheme. Then you can list all your services and products that you sell. You can also write a brief description about what it is you do and what you are offering to consumers. Not the unique details about your business and make sure to clearly display your contact details. Fliers can be sent all over your own city and local neighborhood. In your city or on a particular highway, figure out where the choke point is that causes traffic jams. Wherever there is a billboard closeby, you should try to advertise your business using it. Depending on the style and the variant, it could be an electronic billboard that allows you to have a short video ad or a slideshow of pictures. Convey the unique selling point in the shortest time possible. You should be using bright vibrant colors to catch the attention of drivers and force them to pay attention. One thing that you must juggle is your attitude when you have started a home business. Firstly you must be thinking big and trying to achieve goals that will lead to your expanding and becoming a micro or a small business.
