Humble Beginnings: The Good Old Fashioned Marketing Tactics

Business is so large and complex that it's little wonder everyone and anyone is getting involved in some way. It's perhaps the lifeblood of all civilizations because it's not just about money and providing a great life for you and your family. It's much more because you’re creating dreams, following through with them and making them real for the rest of the world too. It's where human innovation, intelligence, creativity and willpower is constantly tested. So even though business practices have become more efficient and effective, the cost of doing business has improved also. If you’re the owner of a home business, then you will be familiar with the costs of marketing. How else can your business lift off if you cannot advertise your services and products to the rest of the world? But first, you have to admit that you are doing something that is new and hasn’t been the norm all throughout human history. You’re working from the comfort of your own home, so the power of your reach is going to be slightly less than a real-world business. Online marketing is extremely powerful, but sometimes being face to face is the ultimately way to win over consumers. It's time to humble yourself and do a bit of old-fashioned style marketing.

Door to door

You can’t knock on every door, stop and chat with homeowners about their spending habits and explain to them why your business could be useful to them. That is simply too little too slow, and although from time to time this might be okay, it's generally a waste of time, money and energy. However, everyone has seen the simple leaflets and fliers that are posted through the letterboxes of homes. They advertise businesses such as restaurants, construction companies, handyman services, flower delivery and pretty much everything. The fliers are easy to design, they don’t need to be extravagant, they don’t cost a lot to product and you don’t have to deliver them yourself either.

Design your flier at home using photoshop or various other image editing software. You will simply need to have your logo, business name and slogan clearly displayed and use your color scheme. Then you can list all your services and products that you sell. You can also write a brief description about what it is you do and what you are offering to consumers. Not the unique details about your business and make sure to clearly display your contact details. Fliers can be sent all over your own city and local neighborhood. If you can’t be successful in your city or neighborhood then you shouldn’t set your sights too far ahead anyway. It's simple, effective and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

Only what you owe

The modern and most effective marketing strategies are emotional marketing in the form of short video advertisements. Influencers that review your products or services is an extremely effective tactic. Making a short film about your business, focusing on behind the scenes footage and uploading it to your YouTube channel is another modern tactic. However all of these methods cost a lot of money and unless you’re a small business that is pulling in six digits or more in annual revenue, then you’ll want something more cost-effective.

Pay-per-click ads are by far one of the more old-fashioned marketing techniques that have stood the test of time. In fact they have evolved to work with the search engines and their algorithms. To fund your PPS ads, you can Go here! Depending on your needs you can get up to $5,000 in a loan to design and pay for your ad to be splashed all across the internet. However if you would like something that is going to be longer-lasting, then you may want to get the loan that lets you take out up to $15,000. There is no hard check on your credit, that makes it easier for home business owners that have taken out other loans and credit cards to pay for their operations. Bad credit has become a bit of an issue only concerning larger loans, but small loans that do not exceed $15,000 are much easier to get approved for. A brief check of your credit score and you can have the money wired straight into your account.

Right at the choke point

No matter how advanced technology gets, one thing that cannot be determined is traffic jams. There are modern cars with brilliant navigational equipment and computers that inform the driver on the best route possible. However if there are simply too many people all heading in the same direction, using the same road networks, then there will always be traffic jams. People sat still in their cars for half an hour to maybe even more everyday is hectic and hell for the drivers but brilliant for your business. The old-fashioned billboard still has immense power for advertising and marketing purposes.

In your city or on a particular highway, figure out where the choke point is that causes traffic jams. Wherever there is a billboard closeby, you should try to advertise your business using it. Depending on the style and the variant, it could be an electronic billboard that allows you to have a short video ad or a slideshow of pictures. Convey the unique selling point in the shortest time possible. You should be using bright vibrant colors to catch the attention of drivers and force them to pay attention. There’s no need to showcase that you’re a home business, just shine a spotlight on your attributes and business traits to consumers.

One thing that you must juggle is your attitude when you have started a home business. Firstly you must be thinking big and trying to achieve goals that will lead to your expanding and becoming a micro or a small business. However you should also be humble and know that every business has simple beginnings. Use fliers to reach out and advertise your business to homeowners across your city and local neighborhood. A simple PPS campaign is easy to fund, but difficult to get just right so pour your time and effort into this strategy the most.
