Shelly and her husband operate their eBay store, Donny Dixon’s Attic, from their home. Her husband launched the store in 1999 and Shelly came on board in 2008 to expand the business and allow her to stay at home.
Donny Dixon’s Attic offers affordable pre-owned and new clothing in juniors, misses, plus, petite, men’s and maternity sizes. They also sell vintage collectibles, books and accessories. According to Shelly, they offer free domestic shipping on most items as well.
Currently, Shelly said she gets the majority of work done while her son is in school and saves the evenings for family time. However, the couple has another child on the way. “I’m sure that finding that balance will be a little more difficult,” she admitted.
Shelly said she feels it’s important for moms that work at home to have strong time management skills. “Also, keep a list and cross things off of it throughout the day when you can,” she said.
