Mommy Monday:: Tisha Marie Pelletier

Tisha Marie Pelletier is a mom, author and professional. She operates Simply Put Marketing, Details Event Management and is also a principal of SourdoughPR, a national marketing and PR firm. In addition, she has authored a book, ‘When the Universe Throws a Curve Ball – How a mom entrepreneur went from disappointment to living her passion.”

She also founded a mom entrepreneurs' group in Arizona which she plans on expanding to include more chapters and member benefits.  Pelletier also created the Mom Entrepreneur of the Year event last spring and plans on hosting it every year.

When her son was 18 months old, Pelletier and her husband decided to hire a childcare provider two days out of the week. “It was the best decision we made,” she said. “It's a win-win for both me and Caleb, and I get the best of both worlds.  I work 3-4 full days a week while he's at childcare or with his grandma, and the other days, I get to spend time with him and don't feel the least bit guilty.” She also admits that she’s a night owl and does a lot of work once the house is asleep. “As for balancing time with my family, I put a start and stop time on my day when the family is together so we can enjoy each others' company,” she added.

She encouraged other mom entrepreneurs to realize that they’re not superwoman, and it’s okay to ask for help. “We all need it and when we do, we can be 110 percent more effective in balancing our workload along with our families.”

“Having a good support group of other mom entrepreneurs helps, too.  Sometimes friends and family just don't get it.  It's nice to talk with others in your same shoes,” she added.
